The GROSVENOR DNA project is looking for male descendants of any of the various GROSVENOR families who immigrated to America since its founding. Goals are to discover:
1. How many different common male ancestors are associated with the GROSVENOR surname.
2. How are your GROSVENOR ancestors related to other families with the GROSVENOR surname.
3. How are the different GROSVENOR family lines related.
4. Are all GROSVENORs from an ancestral country related, or are there many different families with the name GROSVENOR.
5. Can a connection between the GROSVENORs from one country and the GROSVENORSs from another be made.
6. Which GROSVENOR researchers should be collaborating because they share a common ancestor.
You can contact me at dglennw@charter.net or go directly to the project at http://www.familytreedna.com/surname-search-results.aspx?sTy....

David G. I know they were married in Boone County, Iowa in 1883 and lived there for a little while before moving to Cheyenne County. Their oldest child Marie was born in Iowa and the other 7 children were born in Cheyenne County, NE.
Emma Windsheimer & Henry Beebe were married in 1919 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cheyenne County.

Does anyone have access to the materials at the Nebraska Historical Society? Thay have a collection of records of Fort Sidney. Series one of the collection is the Post Returns (identified as Roll#2, NARS MC617 (1965) AR#1172, Post Returns, January 1882 thru June 1894) and Series Two consists of two Post Medical Record volumes (Roll #1, NARS (1975) MF3158 Donated, Post Medical History, v. 109, August 1875-September 1892). MY ancestor, Francis M. Durvin, was born in VA but enlisted for five years in Company C of the 21st Infantry at Fort Sidney, Nebraska in Dec. 1884. He died in Dec. 1889 a few days short of the end of his enlistment. I ordered his military service record from NARA, but it only had his enlistment papers and a copy of the log book of enlistmensts for 1884, which indicated that he died of peritonitis. I would like to obtain more information on his service and the circumstances of his death. I would appreciate it if anyone could check the records mentioned above to see if there is any more information on my ancestor. Thank you in advance, Bill Durvin.
-

The land is located about 10 miles east and 1 mile south of Gurley, NE and 1 or 2 miles west and a mile south of Weyerts church. It is now in the Jurgens Daughters Trust. The original buildings are mostly gone. Realize it has been a while since the inquiry but hope this helps. JS
Hi

You might have this census, but here it is anyway.

the 1930 Census in Lincoln in Lancaster county, Nebraska had a Harold P O'Corner listed, but Ancestry has him also listed as Harold P O'Conner. I viewed the census and it appeared to me as Harold P O' Conner. I also noted
that the father of this Harold was a Matthew O' Conner who lived and he died in Lincoln.

1930 Census of Harold P O' Conner
Harold, born 1908, Iowa, occupation was
a machinist.
wife a Bertram V - born Nebraska, father-born Sweden,
mother born -New York

thanks, Jim

Hello,
my surname is Jenik and I already have added my ancestors at the tree in here. My ancestors mainly came from the northern part of Bohemia. As far as I know in some old documents women had two surnames one of their father and one of their husband ... I am not sure which one were named first.
I dont have information about all sisters and brothers of my ancestors but maybe you will find something in my tree. Have fun and let me know, if you know any relationship. Sincerly I. Jenik

I am looking for information about Emma Hilda Elvera Hansen who's married name was Carlson.
I have been told by a family member that Emma inherited land from her family in the Potter, Nebraska.
The problem is did she inherit land from her Biological Family or was it from her foster parents Charles/Carl and Anna Hagerstrom? I have seen Carl's obituary and nowhere does it mention that he owns land near Potter Nebraska and bequests it to Emma. As for Emma's mother she died in 1881 from complications of child birth and her brother John died a few months later. Emma's father died in 1914 but he suffered a head injury in 1881 and was hospitalized and was never able to take care of her and later died in a Nebraska instituation. It is unknown if Ever Hansen had any land but it is doubtful that he would have obtained anything during his lifetime. The only other option is that Emma had grandparents that left her something.
According to Ever and Minney's marriage license Ever's parents were Hans Mikkelsen and Harie Hansen.
Minney's parents names were John Jergsen and and Mary Johnsen. Supposedly my Grandmother Emma inherited this land around 1906 -1910.
Are any of these names familiar to anyone in the Potter, Nebraska area?

As for the land, my relative stated that it was sold and so I know that this is a closed book. I am merely trying to put together wether or not this information is correct of if my family member's story was a fabriciation of a tale that someone made up.

Any help anyone could give me is appreciated.
