CAMPBELL family in Glasgow late 1920's to 1940's

Neil D. CAMPBELL, b. 1876 in Ontario, lived in Glasgow, Valley County, Montana from about 1925 (?) to at least 1942. His wife was Olive E. CAMPBELL, b. about 1881 and their daughter was Gwendolyn H. CAMPBELL, born about 1909 probably in Clarke Co. South Dakota. Olive E. CAMPBELL died 22-May-1940, probably in Glasgow, MT and her husband, Neil D. CAMPBELL was still living in 1942.
I would very much to find their graves, cemetery records, and obituaries. Suggestions for sources and further research will be appreciated.
Clara in NE
I'm looking for a map dated b4 Fort Peck Dam was built that lists towns on MO River such as Farenuf, Lismas (1st Point), 6th Point, etc. These towns are listed in my aunt Olive Ingalls Pointer's life story she wrote b4 she died. She was a teacher at Haxby and 3rd Point. These towns are now under water because of the dam. My grandfather homesteaded on the river bottom. Thanks in advance, Gordie
Am looking for information about my maternal grandfather, Albert Levi MURDICK, who died 09 Apr 1922 in General Hospital in Glasgow. I have a partial obit and would like to get a copy of the entire obit if someone could tell how to go about it. He was married to Lyda/Lydia BROOKS JACOBSEN or Lyda/Lydia JACOBSEN BROOKS (not sure which is her maiden name and which is her name from her previous marriage). She had two children by a previous marriage, a daughter whose name was Mrs. A. J. FERGUSON and a 16-yr-old son, Reed both listed in the obit as Albert's step-children.

I also would like to know where I would write to get a copy of Albert and Lyda marriage license. I believe that they were married in September 1915. Any help in locating this information would be gratefully appreciated
CAMERON, Archie b. 1896 d. after 1985 Glascow, MT? obit?

At the time of his sisters death in 1985, per her obit Archie was still living, and in Glascow, Mt. He had lived in McCone, Richland, and Roosevelt counties in earlier years. He does not come up on the Social Security Index. Was a farmer most of his life, and had a military draft registry card for WW1. Would there possibly be an obit for him between 1985 and 1995?

OPAL HARTSOCK married THOMAS HUFFMAN in Kosciusko Co., Indiana in 1911, however by 1914, Opal was married to JOHN FORESMAN in Glasgow, Montana and Thomas Huffman went back to Kosciusco Co., Indiana and then on to continue working as an Oil filed Driller in Allen Co., KY., where he married ROXIE HOLLAND. Opal Hartsock was the daughter of, Samuel Hartsock and Fidelia Rogers.
Did Frederick R. Hartsock die in (?Glasgow) Valley MT? He was b.1882 in IN, moved to MT about 1919 and in 1920 was living in School District # 11, Valley with his wife, children and half sister. His wife Dessie (Hover) Harsock returned to IN where she died in 1957. [there is a note that Fred died 1944 place not given]

After Fred's father died in 1922, his stepmother and others joined him. Believe that his half sister Rembie Hartsock married David Canniff c.1920, his half brother Robert Hartsock married Mazel Hughes c.1925 and his widowed stepmother Loretta (Hale) Hartsock married Bert Olds c.1924 in Glasgow.

Is there a source for marriages and deaths for Valley Co.?

Any leads on the family much appreciated.

Scholl Hoerster Miller in Hinsdale area of Montana early 1900's?

Hello there! I'm searching for information on my Scholl family. My Great grandmother was Anna Theresa Scholl b. 6 Nov 1857 or 1867 in Germany and immigrated to USA with her mother, several sisters and a brother. I got this information from her obituary, no names of her parent or siblings were mentioned. Anna married my Great grandfather, William (Bill) Hoerster between 1886 & 1889 in Texas. In 1899 the family moved to the Hinsdale area of Montana.. Bill and Anna seperated around 1902, Bill going back to Texas, Anna staying on in Hinsdale, Montana. What I'm needing help with are the names of Anna's siblings and mother. I know that her mother did come to live with her at some point. Anna re-married a Mr.George Miller and they had at least one daughter named Alice.. Thanks for any help! Lynette

I have a very old photograph of an ederly couple standing in front of an "old" store eating watermellon. The sign above reads: Post Office
Valleytown, Montana

Does anyone know where this place was? Was it displaced by Fort Peck reservoir?
DOUG

Would someone be able to check the 1920 Census for
Albert Levi MURDICK and wife, Lyda or Lydia? Albert died in 1922 at his home "near Glasgow." He was born in Kansas, his father was born in Pennsylvania and his mother was born in Indiana. If his children are listed with him, their names are Dorothy, Moyne and Joseph Chester or Chester. Lydia is his second wife and these are the children of his first wife. I don't know if they were living with him in 1920 or if they were back in Kansas with his or his first wife's parents. I believe that Lydia also had one or two children.

Thank you,

Louise
Redding/CA

Seeking information on the fate of Floyd and Murriel (Hodshire) Cave, last known to be living in Valley County, Montana in 1920.

Floyd Cave was born circa 1888 in Indiana, and Murriel Hodshire was born circa 1891. She was the daughter of John Charles Hodshire and Lethe Ellen Marion of Jasper County, Indiana.

In 1909 their daughter Lethe E. Cave was born in Clinton County, Indiana. She apparently died before 1920, as she is not listed in that year's census. Two other daughters do appear: Francis M., born circa 1915 in Indiana, and Dorothy, born circa 1919 in Montana.

None of the family can be found in the 1930 census. Floyd and the two daughters must have died; Murriel may also have died, or she remarried.

I recently came across these folks and wonder if they might be the parents of my great-great grandmother Lilly(could also be Lily or Lillie?)Boyd. She married and Englishman(Born in England and subsequently abandoned his family and returned to England), Thomas Saunders some time before 17 April 1879.

The folks I believe may be her parents are:

Robert M Boyd b. around 16 April 1816
d. 30 Jan 1868 at 56 yrs. 9 mos.14 days old
Came to MO from IA
AND

Jane C. Boyd b. around 26 May 1818
d. 8 Dec 1870 at 52 yrs. 8 mos. 13 days old
Born in OH

If any of you out there are related to these Boyds, did they have and daughters? Any with the name Lilly(Lily or Lillie) or possibly Lillian that may have been called Lilly that married a Thomas Saunders?

My Lilly had a daughter Bertha Lillie Saunders, my great-grandmother, who had a daughter, Ruth Hundley, my paternal grandmother.

I have hit many dead ends regarding Lilly who remarried(?) a man named Cortade(?), had another son, Charlie, subsequently moved with the Cortades to Oregaon and was "felled" by a tree, according to family "history."

If any of this sounds AT ALL familiar to anyone here please fell free to contact me.

Need some advice

Hi there!

I just received a marriage certificate for my grandparents, Frank Hoerster and Gladys Lenora Roane Hoerster from Judith Basin County. On the marriage certificate it states that both were divorced before and my grandmother gives her name as a divorced woman as "Hoerster", could they have married when she was 16 years old and then divorced only to marry again? My grandfather is listed as 42 years old in 1928 and my grandmother 18 years old. Now, I have a feeling my grandfather was married once before or had a child by another woman and would like to know if this is so. The reason is because in his obit it mentions that he is preceded in death by his son, Ivan Hoerster...I never knew of a child with this name before. Frank grew up in Hinsdale, Valley County, Montana. I need some advice on where to begin. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you. Lynette Skoglund Kleve
I am searching for the family of DELOS E. BOYD, b. 28 Apr 1923 - d. Oct 1984. According to SSDI, he died in Glasgow, Valley County, Montana.
Delos was the son of GLADYS A. HAYNIE and LEWIS BOYD
of Modale Township, Harrison County, Iowa. His maternal grandparents were RICHARD & NETTIE HAGERMAN HAYNIE; paternal grandparents unknown. His father died prior to 1930. Gladys is shown as a widow with four children in the 1930 Census in Harrison County, Iowa. Delos had three sisters, Waunita (Juanita), Vesta, and Lena. Delos was Gladys' third child. It is unknown if Gladys remarried. Gladys and her family has been a real brick wall for me. I would really appreciate any help and will share family information.

Peter ALLAN, Notary Public, Nashua.

Hi,
Would anyone know where I can find out about my ancestor Peter ALLAN. He homestaeded in Nashua in 1908, he was good friends with the founder of Nashua C.C. SARGENT. There is a crossroad in Nashua and there is ALLAN St. crossing SARGENT St. i belive that ALLAN St. was named after my ancestor, as he had a hand in surveying the Township. Peter ALLAN was a Notary Public there for some time. Where would I be able to find out the history of Nashua, are there any local history books available?
Thanks for any help.
Andrea
