Death of Joseph H. Hamilton. Joseph H. Hamilton, son of A.B. Hamilton and Lucy Hamilton, whose death occurred March 12, [1894] at 1 o’clock a.m. was a young man just past 23 years of age, of exemplary character and one absolutely free from the vices so common among young men reared in frontier towns. He was born in old Choteau county, had attended school many years at Choteau, [Teton County, Mont.] three years in the east and had secured a good education. Some months since his health began to fail and it was not long before his friends became convinced that consumption had developed. Deceased bore the pains of his last illness with great fortitude and when near the end he called his father, his mother and his sisters to his side and grasping each by the hand bade them good bye and passed peacefully out of this life. Father Dols, a friend of the bereaved father for a period of 30 years, was summoned from Great Falls. The funeral services were held at the family residence Tuesday at 2 p.m. the reverend Father delivered a very eloquent and touching address. [Reprinted from the Teton Times March 16, 1894]
