I would like to hear from any descendants of Nicholas J. and Maria/Marie [LUDWIG] TINTINGER who came from Alsace-Lorriane, France, to America in 1854 by way of NY. They first settled in Peoria Co., IL, then removed to Kossuth Co.,IA, then New Orleans, LA, then back to IA for a short time, and finally to Big Timber, Sweet Grass Co.,MT in 1886.

Nicholas & Maria TINTINGER had 13 children, 11 of whom are believed to have reached adulthood. They were:

John Christopher "Jack" TINTINGER, 1860-1936
~ married (1) Sidney F. HINTON; (2) Ida MILLER

Louis Peter "Lou" TINTINGER, 1862-1949
~ married Kathrine "Katie" TAYLOR

Charles R. "Charley" TINTINGER, 1864-1935
~ married Lena M. NILES/NYLES

Theresa Louise "Tracy" TINTINGER, 1869-1959
~ married Edward HOLLIDAY

Katherine Marie "Katie" TINTINGER, 1870-??

Marion TINTINGER (female), 1871-1949
~ married Oswald Brodie NEVIN

Nicholas J. "Nick" TINTINGER, Jr., 1873-1958
~ married Clara MORSE/MORRIS

Frederick Augustus "Fritz" TINTINGER, 1874-1954
~ married Grace Helen BAIN

Marie Antoinette "Nettie" TINTINGER, 1876-1968
~ married David NEVIN

Theodore D. TINTINGER, 1879-1940
~ married Pearl MORRISON

Susan "Susie" TINTINGER, 1881-1968
~ married Forrest W. DODGE

These families lived variously in Sweet Grass Co., Stillwater Co., Cascade Co., and Yellowstone Co., MT.

If any of these names are yours, or sound familiar, I really want to hear from you! I have quite a lot of info that I've gathered from many sources, including the U.S. Census rolls, but would like to make sure that everything is correct -- and would love to add the current generation(s) to my ever-expanding tree. I am VERY willing to share whatever I have!

Please respond here, or email me directly at calypso985@aol.com. If emailing, please put "TINTINGER" in the subject line to get my attention :-)

Many thanks to any/all who reply!!
