Surnames: SWINDELL. SWINDLE
William Ralph Swindell, remains a mystery to all his family in Long County, GA. Apparently he had a wife with at least one child in Atlanta, GA in the late teens or early 20’s; Another wife and two children in the 20’s while he worked/lived out West (believed to have lived just across state line in Ottawa, Oklahoma-or Cherokee, Kansas) when he and his brother Wallace Leroy Swindell worked with the railroad and/or mining operations in and around Joplin, Missouri. William Ralph Swindell never returned to his home in Long County Georgia until in the early 1940’s after having been gone for over 20 years with another wife (Harriet and their child Irene in her early teens all from Utah – maybe Ogden or Salt Lake City).

William Ralph Swindell departed Long County Georgia again to unknowns in the late 40’s leaving yet another wife and daughter in Ludowici, Georgia and they soon moved on as well where Harriet Swindell was believed by William Ralph Swindell’s sister (Annie Swindell Watson) to have been employed in a Walgreen Drug Store in Atlanta, GA when she lost all contact with Harriet Swindell about 1948 or 1949 when all correspondence ceased. Annie (Swindell) Watson’s home was destroyed by fire in the early 1950’s and all family pictures, old correspondence, records, etc., was completely destroyed by the fire.

Any information or knowledge on William Ralph Swindell/Swindle (born about 1898-GA) or his descendants, etc., will be most appreciative by his family in Georgia {descendants of his brother Wallace Leroy Swindell’s children/gc/ggc/gggcc and the grand children/ggc/gggc of Annie Swindell Watson - Both of his siblings and some nieces and nephews are now deceased}. We are trying with some success to peace together a family-tree.

This Board Query Postings was also posted: Weber & Salt Lake Counties in Utah; Ottawa County, Oklahoma; Benton County, Arkansas; Cherokee County, Kansas; and Benton, Jasper, McDonald, & Newton Counties in Missouri.

He may have gone to Butte, Silver Bow, Montana when he left his home Georgia again in the late 1940's

Thanks, Earl Swindell, Glennville, GA!
