I am looking for any info on Hibbert & Florence Fales. I found them buried in this cemetery. Would there be more info on them like obits etc. Hibbert was born in Nova Scotia Canada, no more info on Florence.

Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Butte, County/State: Silver Bow, Montana.
FALES HINNERD W. M 1860 /1915 (Hibbert)
FALES FLORENCE E. F 1863 / 1929
I appreciate any help you can give me.
Thanks,
Valleymist.

It might be possible to find an obituary if we knew the exact date of death, or at least the month/year. However, I've found that they didn't always print obituaries--only a death notice--in the early 1900s. I suggest that you write to the cemetery and ask them what information they may have on record. My understanding is that the Butte cemeteries keep (or kept) the best records and may include some information you wouldn't think about. You can find the address of the cemetery at http://silverbow.mtgenweb.org/cemetary.htm. If you do find exact dates, I would be happy to check the old newspapers for you. You can email me directly at suzandrews@bresnan.net. I'm the MTGenWeb CC for Butte-Silver Bow County, MT.

I agree that it might be a good idea to write the cemetery a letter or a phone call. It might not turn up any new information, but it's worth a try. I do think that they have the exact date of burial. One thing they will be able to give you is the Faleses plot numbers inside the cemetery. If you get the plot numbers, and if you'd like, I'd be more than happy to run out and see if they have head stones and take some photos I could e-mail your way. Sometimes there are odd bits of information on the stones (especially in Mt. Moriah) and you can sometimes find other family buried nearby. Mt. Moriah might also have the exact date of burial for these two (which, under normal circumstances, occurred within a week of the actual death). This might help in tracking down an obituary with suzanandrews. Since they died in 1915 and 1929 there is a really good chance (especially in 1929) that there were obituaries that have some information in them.

You know Doris, I never thought to ask what part of Nova Scotia you were from. I have some family that lived in Colchester Co, Nova Scotia in the late 1800s and early 1900s. You don't happen to know anything about the East-Folley/Folleigh and East Advocate areas, do you?

Oh, also, head stone offer still stands, ha, ha.

Hi Jd,
I am from the Annapolis Co branch but a friend of mine cvhkamerik@aol.com has done some research on that branch. I havn't gotten in touch with the cemetery yet as have been out doing yard work.I think I will call them soon and will let you know. Thank you very much for offering to take a picture of the tombstone if there is one.

Thanks,
Doris
