When Mana turned 100, the following was in the Sidney Herald, Dec. 18, 1985. Hopkins Celebrates 100th
"An open house birthday party honoring Mana Hopkins on her 100th birthday was Dec. 14 at Richland Homes, where Mana has been a residence since February 1980."

"Mana was born Dec. 14, 1885 in Medford, Wis., to parents Adam and Christina Christman. She grew up in Medford and attended school through the 12th grade. Mana is the eldest of six children. She taught school for seven years."

"In March 1913, Mana married Clyde Hopkins. They raised Six children: Alice Blodgett of Portland, Oreg.; Edna Christianson of Coeur d'Alene, ID; Dwayne Hopkins, Powell, Wyo; Belle Kruger, Sidney; Pearl Stokes, Rayville, La.; and Ruth Moe of Sidney are deceased."

"Mana is an avid Scrabble player and enjoys reading. She has also enjoyed crocheting, sewing, gardening, playing cards, listening to piano and band music. She is a member of Lonsdale United Methodist Church and a life member of Eastern Star."
