I am looking for information on members of my extended PRENDERGAST family from Illinois. One branch of this family moved to Montana around 1915 or so. William Burke married Mary Duffy on 2/7/1899 in Bureau County, Illinois. William was the son of Thomas Burke and Bridget McGrath. Mary was the daughter of John Duffy and Ellen PRENDERGAST.

The older children of William and Mary were born in Bureau County. Sometime shortly before the 1910 census, the family moved to Miner County, South Dakota where they would live a few years. Their youngest daughter Mary T. was born in 1912 while they were living there. A couple years later, the family continued on west to Montana and appear in the 1920 census living in Meagher County. By the 1930 census, they are living in Deer Lodge in Powell County.

In addition to Powell County, some of their descendants later ended up in Missoula, Ravalli, and Lewis and Clark counties. Based on my research to date, I have been able piece together a descendant listing for William and Mary that appears below. If anyone has information on any of the mentioned people, I would like to hear from you. I am glad to share any information that I have on the PRENDERGAST family. Thank you.
