I have considerable information to share/compare on this Montana Pioneer family who mined in the Cascade-Meagher-Lewis & Clark-Jefferson Counties. Hamilton McBURNEY (1801-1882), his brother George Washington McBURNEY and Hamilton's son (also a George Washington) all prospected in the early 1860's. Hamilton's daughter, Caroline McBURNEY married Daniel DUTRO (1848-1918) who was also a prospector/miner. Daniel became a photographer in the Fort Benton area and later lived in Central Park, Gallatin County, Montana until his death in 1918.

I am looking for my gr. grandfather Willaim Wallace McBurney b. 6 Apr 1856, LA or PA. Died 1 May 1949, Fairview, Richland Co.,MT. Willaim married Delilah FREESTONE b 1853, IN. Died 1894, Lucas, Dunn Co., WI. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

My Great grandfather was William Wallace McBurney same birth and death dates. After Delilah Freestone died, he married Lula Freestone who is my great grandmother. They had 2 children, Malcolm Wallace McBurney and Adeline Eleanor McBurney who married Elmer Lee Sykes, they had 9 children. If you need more info, let me know. I guessing that we are cousins.
