THE BOULDER AGE-Jefferson County, MT - 10/12/1904
Jefferson county loses a good citizen in the death of John T. Filcher of Boulder, although he has not been among his acquaintances for some time as he was stricken with paralysis about seven years ago since when he has been confined at his home, gradually growing weaker and more helpless, tenderly and faithfully cared for by his family, but the end came last Thursday morning. Deceased was 67 years old. The family came from
California to
Montana about twenty-five years ago and located in Butte; later they removed to
Comet in this county where Mr. Filcher was engaged in prospecting and mining and he did much in developing that locality, being interested in the High
Ore and other claims; a few years ago the family removed to Boulder which has since been their home. Deceased leaves a widow and four children, Ralph Filcher of
Jefferson Island, Mrs. Chas. Zang of Lewistown,
Mont., Joseph and
Maude Filcher of Boulder. The funeral services were held Saturday afternoon and were conducted under the ritual of the Masonic fraternity of which Mr. Filcher was a member, and besides the lodge membership there was a large attendance of sorrowing friends.
