Thank you Judy!!
I do have Robert's obituary. The print is very poor, but I can make most of it out. It doesn't mention either children or his wife. From that I assumed she was deceased or they may have divorced, and must not have had any children at the time of his death.
I do have his draft record as you kindly detailed.
I hadn't previously seen or been aware of the reference to logging in Washington, so perhaps that's him. Family lore doesn't mention logging, but you never know? Robert's Mother and siblings did immigrate from Canada to Minnesota in 1880, so that fits. His Father became naturalized, which did naturalize the wife and children at that time. Did you find the Washington state info in the 1920 census?
I did find one year he was involved with the Montana legislature I found at a Montana site.
Thanks so much!! Tom McMillan
