I would like to have the assistance of a resident in Havre, Montana who can call the County Clerk's or County Court Clerk's Office at 406-265-5481 to get information about marriage records for me (I do not have a telephone). I would like to order a certified copy of a marriage that occurred in 1940 in Hill County and I would like to know what the fee is and whether access is restricted to family only or whether anyone in the general public can order the document and what the estimated processing time is (can a resident come into the office in Havre and pick it up the same day or not?). I do know that the marriage definitely occurred and I do have the names of the bride and groom and the exact date that it occurred.
