Hi,
In the 1896 Anaconda Directory is a James Ellis
(Ellis, James; smelterman, Upper works; Rooms 403 East Front Colored). I can't find him in any other directories.

I am trying to find out more about him. Who is he related to? Where did he come from and where did he go?

In the 1896 Anaconda Directory is George Ellis
(Ellis, George; smelterman, Upper works; Rooms at 404 E. Front St.) This is probably George Martin Ellis who married Elizabeth Everett in 1899 in Anaconda. I have lots of information on this family line. George Ellis is African American.

However, I believe they might have been another George
Ellis in Anaconda who was white.

Any ideas or help with the mystery James Ellis would be appreciated.
