Streeter Marriage - Possibly Anaconda, MT

I am looking for a needle in a haystack. Leal Arthur Streeter enlisted in the Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force in Fernie, BC, Canada on 6/30/1916. He listed his next of kin as Mrs. L. A. Streeter (his wife) living in Anaconda, MT. Leal had emigrated from Michigan to British Columbia in 1903. His father was a lumberman.

My guess is that his wife returned to her parents home in Anaconda while he served. Leal survived the war and died in Vancouver, BC in 1940. I am trying to determine who his wife was. I have no proof that she was from Montana either, it is just a guess.

Any help, suggestions etc would be welcome.

or you can email:

I checked the census data for 1910, 1920 and 1930 and did not find any Streeters residing in Anaconda or Deer Lodge County, nor did I find an Aileen STREETER in any census for Montana. I did find Leal Arthur STREETER in Michigan living with his parents in 1900 if you would like that information.

I hope you have found the above information useful. I am not related

This is great. My thanks. Not sure why Aileen was in Anaconda, perhaps she knew someone. I will save the link to the BC Marriage index as I have other people known to have passed thru there.

My goodness. Yes this is the right person. Leal was a grand-nephew of Cap Streeter (see www.capstreeter.com for more on him). Although my mother was a Streeter this family is not related. However they did intermarry with my wife's family several times in Gladwin, Michigan. So I have been tracing the many members looking for other connections.

I did pass this information along to a person writing a book on Cap Streeter. He may have known about the article on Leal but maybe not.

My thanks to everyone.
