George Hornung disappeared from the census in Schuylkill County PA after he married Barbara Everly. My g g grandfather died in Schuylkill County PA in 1862 in a mining accident and most of his remaining family died in Schuylkill County except for one who went to Australia and started a sheep ranch in Julia Springs. I have not been able to ascertain how George Hornung might have been connected since he is the first to show up in Pottsville, PA. John and his sister Pauline came to PA via NY in 1844, about 1850 his brother Henry and again Michael Hornung his wife Magdelena and three children sometime after 1860. Their parents were listed as Michael Hornung and Maria Hanselman most likely from the Fulda in Hesse. Census has them from Kurhessen and Cassel. If any of their decendents went West I haven't been able to track them.
