Barsa Minerva, Helen Lang?

Classification: Query
Surnames: Menteer, Russell, Lang
I am looking for a needle in a haystack. My great grandmother was born in Missouri on 29 Jan 1897, but her story is wild. If this sounds familiar to you, please respond so that I can give my grandmother peace.

Barsa was given up for adoption, to a couple that lived in the mountains in a cabin. That winter, the family was found frozen to death in their cabin by a man, who found Barsa was still alive. To our knowledge that mans name was Thomas J. Russel, wife Samantha E. Russel and they had a daughter named Bernice Russel.
My grandma says that she was told her mothers maiden name was Menteer, but doesnt know where that came from at all. So we're not even sure if it really is.
Years after my great grandmothers death in 1968, a woman named Helen Lang who was born in Sedalia, Missouri came calling, telling my grandmother that she was her mothers birth sister, and that they had siblings named Tom who was in WW1, and Mary. Helen's kids names were Junior, Molly and Helen.
I have searched my heart out and I am having trouble finding anything on here, if you know this person, or someone that might, please contact me.
Thank you.
Jamie
