William Charles Martin was born December 3, 1934 at Bonne Terre, Missouri to the late Guy Thomas and Berdie Mae (Henderson) Martin. On October 16, 2003 he depaarted this life at the age of 68 years, 10 months and 13 days as a result of a motor vehicle accident.
Mr. Martin worked in the maintenance department with the DeSoto Fuel Incorporated. For the majority of his life he resided in Washington County. He was the proud father of his beloved daughters, a beloved brother, uncle, friend and special Grandpa.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Brent Charles Martin and a brother, Arthur Eugene Martin.
Among those who remain to mourn his passing from this life are his seven daughters, Billie Jean Martin of Bloomington, Indiana; Debra Pratt of Park Hills; Patricia Caroll and husband bob of Hillsboro; Darla Bowyer of Festus; Laurie Nickelson and husband Randy of Potosi; Stacy Beck and husband Jeff of Hopewell and Casey Bergner and husband Jimmy of Mineral Point; four brothers, James Martin and wife Donna of Bonne Terre; Robert Martin and wife Faye of Hopewell; Carl Clayton Martin and wife Linda of Glen Carbon, Illinois and Melvin Martin and wife Vivian of Mineral Point; five sisters, Glenda Spradling and husband Harvey of Barnhart; Pearl Forey of Cadet; Gladys Martin of Marble Hill; Dorothy Blevins of Marble Hill and Cora Zimmerman of Rolla; twenty five grandchildren; four great grandchildren, dear friend, Carolyn King, nieces, newphws, cousins, other family members, best buddy, Magic and many dear friends.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 P.M. Saturday, October 18, 2003 in the Britton Chapel, Potosi, with Rev. Phil Wade officiating. Pallbearers were Troy Bowyer, Jimmy Bergner, Davie Lee Martin, David Bouse, Randy Nickelson and Jeff Beck. Interment was in the Hopewell Cemetry.
All arrangements were entrusted to the care of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
