I trust it will be okay to step into this thread and pass on a website that has been a joy and delight for me to find. It came to my attention through another post to this Stoddard Co. site and I am thankful for whoever mentioned it a few months ago.
It is:
http://www.findagrave.comThere are many pictures of headstones and in some cases there are pictures of people. It provides another source for documentation and gives a view of cemeteries that you may never be able to visit.
I trust that this message will be of help to others as it was to me. Having the Stoddard County Cemeteries book is wonderful and has helped me greatly, but now being able to go to a website and find or contribute pictures of actual cemeteries and tombstones just adds a wonderful dimension to my family history near and far.
It is free!
I am adding memorials and pictures not only of my own family members, but pictures of other tombstones in cemeteries I visit. Some who live in Stoddard County have photographed entire cemeteries and added them. THANK YOU for your labor of love and care!
That's my 2 cents worth for a while.
Happy exploring!
