I identified an ancestor who arrived in New Orleans on May 12, 1848 and was married in St. Louis on May 21, 1848. That's just nine days later and that seems pretty fast. Anyway, I was wondering how long it would have taken to go from New Orleans to St. Louis in 1848 by any conveyance. Also, does anyone know of any Mississippi river boat passenger lists especially for passengers getting off in St. Louis around the 21st of May, 1848.
