Seeking information on the emancipation of Mahala Tindall Coffey. Her husband, Alvin Aaron Coffey, was emancipated by Mary Tindall in 1854. The Coffey's were living in St. Louis County when Alvin Coffey made his first trip West with Dr. William Bassett in 1849. Alvin Coffey made another trip West in 1854 and returned to St. Louis County for his wife and family in 1857.
