Everett Vance Fleeman and Freda Fleeman had a daughter Naomi, who married Danny McCall. They had a son David McCall, wife Sharla, maiden name Garner. Naomi is deceased, but the rest of the McCall's, icluding Naomi's son David are in Elgin, OK.
Now maybe you can help me out. There is a link between the Fleemans and Frances and Buster Glasgow, but I cannot find it. Are you related to any Glasgows?

Hi Kandy,
I have been wondering how to get a hold of you. My e-mail is janice_theo@yahoo.com I have been doing some research myself on the family. Would love to see you. Did you know that my middle name is Theo and that I was named after Estelle, your mom's and my grandma's sister. I always wondered where they got that name for me. Hope to hear from you

LaVerne,

Thank you for posting this message naming the children of Thomas Hill. I'm researching the line of Charles Hickock, husband of Mariah Hill, and got no further than her father's name. Now, thanks to you, I was able to find information not only on her parents, but also her grandparents.

Thomas Hill married Mary Wallace, d/o John Wallace and Jane Finley. John fought in the Revolutionary War. More about them later.

Your query dated 17 Mar 2012 asked what county in Kentucky Thomas and Mary Hill lived in. I believe it may be Fayette county, as that is where John Wallace was when he died. That is where I'm going to start my search for John.

Please contact me, if you care to. I have more information.

Aloha,

Kathy
Kailua, Hawaii
khudson888@aol.com

Thank you for your help! Yes, it definitely seems as if your father and my grandfather were first cousins. Somewhere in this house I've got a box with all of my mother's pictures--I'll have to find them and scan/attach them-it would be so cool if someone were to recognize one of their relatives in some of the photos.

I went back to the find a grave site that you suggested. I couldn't find anything for my grandfather but I found info for John Henry Tetley, Sr and Robert Tetley's obituary. Thanks to your help, I now see that John Henry, Sr was the son of Ann (Gay) Tetley, and the step son of Robert Tetley. It looks like she was married (it says that Robert Tetley married Mrs Ann Heckleman) to possibly Jacob Heckleman? There is a census that shows Ann being 14 years old and Jacob Heckleman being a 20 something year old farm hand? The obituaries back then were amazing sources of information--I now however, am now realizing that both my grandfather and great grandfather were Tetley's in name only. I think it's so interesting that people would take in a child back then and just give them their last name. My grandfather's brother (Howard C. Tetley) was also John and Mary Tetley's "adopted" son. It looks like his family (Cheesebourgh) was around still and that he went to live with the Tetley's (maybe as an apprentice jeweler?). It looks like he made a career in the jewelry business, as well. I will definitely check out the link for Farmington, MO

I'm sure you have already seen this obituary for Robert but I'm attaching the web address, just in case. I really appreciate your information, I'm still kind of new at this!

http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mackley/Li...

I did try to find some info. on your grandfather, John Henry Tetley, Jr., but not a lot of luck so far. Maybe to help clarify things, Robert Tetley is my great-grandfather, he would be your great-great grandfather. My grandfather, Dr. Clarence A. Tetley, and your great-grandfather, JH Tetley Sr., were brothers. That would make my father, also named Clarence A., and your grandfather, JH Tetley, Jr., first cousins. Does that sound right?

You should also check link for Farmington, MO on the web. They have archives of obituaries that you can search, wealth of information. When I have a minute I will find it and post a link.

I have found a lot of information by entering my grandfather's name (Clarence Arthur Tetley) and click on the link to findagrave.com. I just googled John Henry Tetley's name, and his also comes up on the find a grave.com. You will find links to his obituary, along with links to their parents, etc. Sounds like your great-grandfather (JH Tetley Sr.) is my great-uncle. Good luck in your search!

Hello! My mother is John Henry Tetley, Jr's daughter. She has several pieces of jewelry that she was given by her grandparents. I have been searching for information about my grandfather (he died at the very young age of 55yrs after having routine surgery). I know that he was adopted by John Henry Sr and Mary Koen somewhere between the age of 5-8yrs. He and his sister were given up to an orphanage sometime between 1912 and 1920. His birth name was Cluster (although his family members have the misspelling of Chester, too). If anyone has any information I would love to speak with you.

Just to let you know, Jeremiah Flanagan (son) was born in 1828, this Jeremiah was married to Juriah Hardy in 1848. His father and mother were Jeremiah and Jane Flanagan. As per the census records, he would've been born between 1756 and 1774. Jane would've been born 1781 to 1790. Their daughter Martha Patsey Flanagan married Scarlet Daugherty in 1818. Their children also attended the same school as in "the lost children of Wythe Co" They were poor children. This is from Wythe CO. records and the book by Mary Kegley, and just adding up the dates. We found Jane from a death record as being the wife of the elder Jeremiah. Not sure if they were related to Philip, but must've been somehow, his child Sally shows up in the "lost children of Wythe county" also about 1838.

LaVerne,
I have the newspaper article regarding his death. I know a lot about him...except his birth date. We think he committed suicide. He was in poor health. I've been to the acvtual spot on the track in Bismarck where it happened. I'll try the St Francois County Courthouse in Farmington, MO next for birth record.

Wow, that death certificate tells a lot! Born Bismark MO even if not the exact day of his birth. He married Lucy A. He was a real estate and Insurance man and was runover by a train in 1934, (rest of story on back. I would want to see the back and contact that funeral home and find the newspapers of that time frame. Look for a city directory and obituary. You have probably done that already and found the census in 1900 I think that tells a month of the birth at least.

You need his death certificate. If he lived to old age he may be in the Social Security death index. That is on line. It will tell you where he died. Some states have put death certificates on line. You should be able to print it out. I know Texas has. The death certificate will have his birthday on it. His obituary might have it too if you can find it.
If you know where he is buried, the cemetery should have records too.
Try to find probate of his will. Should be in county court records microfilm, or online in the US Genweb County Web site for the county where he died. If you know who probated the will, a death certificate will be in the file of papers they already have in a drawer somewhere.

I ran across this older thread while searching for information about the Revolutionary veteran Thomas Arman family of St Francois County, MO. I hope one of you may be able to help me out.

I am descended from a different Thomas Arman who died in Livingston County, Illinois, in 1844. He would have been born between 1800 and 1810. In the 1880 census, his sons said their father had been born in Kentucky.

In the 1822 Revolutionary War pension application of Thomas Arman, he said he had a son Thomas who was "about 22 years old," who would have been born while Thomas and Charity were living in Kentucky. Does anyone know what happened to this Thomas? He was the brother of Nancy, Henry, and Elizabeth Armon who married Doggett and Crump.

Thanks in advance,
Martha Arman Murphy
