Rev. James M. Appleberry died Thursday, December 2, 1927 at his home at Silver Springs, at the age of 82 years, 11 months and 29 days, following a stroke of paralysis two days before his death. Funeral services were held at the home on Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. J. W. Jeffries, pastor of Farmington First Baptist Church. Interment was in the Appleberry Cemetery at Silver Springs.
Rev. Appleberry has been a Baptist minister for many years and he will be sadly missed in that community where he had lived the greater part of his life. He is survived by his wife and two sons, Dr. Daly Appleberry, Rivermines, and Dr. Reuben Appleberry of Farmington, two grandchildren and one great-grandchild and one sister, Mrs. Bettie League of DeSoto.
