BENJAMIN H. CHRISTOPHER

Benjamin H. Christopher, 93, died Sept. 27 at the Desloge Health Care Center. He was born in Bonne Terre on April 14, 1894 to the late Robert and Fannie Crump Christopher.

He is survived by his wife Minnie Jarrell Christopher of Desloge, one son Melvin of Desloge and one nephew Morris Christopher of El Paso, Texas. Also surviving are seven brothers: John "Bill" of Leadwood, Carson and Luther of Desloge, Roy of Bonne Terre, Lawrence of Gumbo, and Jesse and Logan of St. Louis and one sister, Rhoda Powell of Esther. One granddaughter and one great-granddaughter also survive.

Mr. Christopher was preceeded in death by four brothers and one sister.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Desloge and a former member of the Cantwell Baptist Church.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the C.Z. Boyer Funeral Home in Desloge. Services with Rev. Edwin Hunter will be from the Boyer Chapel at 2 p.m. on Tuesday. Burial will follow at the Parkview Cemetery.
