Emmett Calvird, son of the late Thomas and Fannie Bates Calvird, was born in Ste. Genevieve County, Mo., on November 8, 1889, and passed away at his home in St. Clair, Mich., on April 6, 1950, aged 60 years 4 months 28 days.
On December 20, 1908, he was united in marriage to Lena Burgess, who survives. He also leaves two brothers and three sisters: Walter Calvird, Detroit, Mich.; Roy Calvird, Lily (Mrs. J. B.) Batson and Bertha (Mrs. Thomas) Henderson, St. Louis; Pearl (Mrs. Marvin) Downs, and Mrs. Cora Baughman, Chicago, Ill.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon at the Assembly of God Church in Farmington [St. Francois County, Mo.], conducted by Rev. J. D. Havnear. Interment was in Parkview Cemetery with Cozean Service.
