Ruth E. Ames, 72, of Park Hills, died March 24, 2000, at her home. She was born Oct. 27, 1927, in St. Louis. She was preceded in death by parents, William and Beulah (Hall) Laster; husband, Lester Ames; granddaughter, Susan Tilley, brother, Johny Laster.

She was a member of the Sunrise Baptist Church.

She is survived by three sons: Bill Tilley, Potosi, David Reeves, Viburnum and Dennis Ames, Phoenix, Ariz.; daughter, Marjorie Shaner, Park Hills; 10 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be 2 p.m. today at the C. Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Leadwood. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at the C. Z. Boyer and son Chapel in Leadwood with Rev. Cletus Nichols and Rev. Paul Pope officiating. Burial will be in Leadwood Cemetery.
