BONNE TERRE - Gary Gene Greer Sr., of Bonne Terre, fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, passed away Saturday, September 17, 2005 at St. John's Mercy Hospital at the age of 63 years. He was born March 3, 1942 in St. Louis to the late Edward and Charlotte Greer (nee Hinkelheim). Also preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Alta DeClue, father-in-law, Howard DeClue; brother, Edward Greer; brother-in-laws: Rockney DeClue; Donald DeClue, and Howard Eugene DeClue.

Gary was a faithful parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bonne Terre, fourth degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council #1088 where he served as grand Knight in 2001-2002, an Eagle Scout in his youth, and served on the St. Louis County Rescue Squad for many years. Gary was devoted to his family, church, including Bingo and Chicken/Dumplings dinners.

Gary is survived by his wife of 43 years, Shirley Greer (nee DeClue) of Bonne Terre; two sons: Gary (wife, Monique) Greer and Kevin Greer, both of Bonne Terre; two grandchildren: Gary Greer, III and Jackie Greer; one sister, Beverly Greer, of Ky.; two brothers: Fred (wife, Marsha) Burns of Springfield and Frank (wife, Kathy) Burns of Washington; sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws: Joe (wife, Patrica) Bryant of De Soto; Charles (wife, Connie) Burns of Valles Mines; Thomas (wife, Carol) DeClue of De Soto; James (wife, Helen) Rayburn of Bonne Terre; Mary O'Neil of Desloge; Loretta DeClue of Hopewell, and Norma Northcutt of St. Louis. Nieces; nephews; great nieces and nephews; cousins and many dear friends also survive.

Family to receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, September 19, 2005 and from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, September 20, 2005 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bonne Terre. Rosary Service Service Tuesday, 7 p.m. Funeral Mass wil be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 21, 2005 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. John Schneider officiating. Interment wil follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. If desired family would appreciate memorials to Knights of Columbus Council #1088 Building Fund, 7897 Berry Rd., Bonne Terre or Masses preferred. family served by Shearin Funeral Home, Bonne Terre.
