Philip Henry
Jarrette, son of the late Henry J. and Mary
Haney Jarrette, was born at River Aux Vases, Mo., on January 16, 1877, and passed away in the
Cedar Grove Nursing Home at Hillsboro on Friday, October 31, 1952, being one of the patients who suffocated during the fire which damaged the institution. He was 75 years 9 months 15 days of age.
On December 2, 1897 he was united in marriage to Laura E. White, and to this union three children were born, all surviving: (
Virginia) Mrs. John
Hawn of Flat River; Vernon
Jarrette of Chicago, Ill., and Hershel
Jarrette, St. Louis. The wife and mother preceded him in death on July 19, 1926.
On September 29, 1927, he married Mary N. Roussin, whose death occurred in 1941. A son,
Glennon Jarrette, now residing in Farmington. Besides his children he leaves to mourn his passing, five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, four step-children, Andrew, Clyde, Agnes and Gilbert Roussin; a brother,
Luke Jarrette of Farmington
Route 1; a sister, Mrs. Lillian
Williams of Farmington, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held on Monday morning, November 3, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Farmington, conducted by the Rev. Fr. Robert McKoen of St. Louis. Interment was in Parkview Cemetery. Benham
