JESSE F. KOEN
Jesse Franklin Koen of Esther, Missouri, who was employed in St. Louis, passed away on Monday, January 24, 1948, in a St. Louis hospital, following an illness of pneumonia. He was 50 years 10 months 18 days of age.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Esther Methodist Church, of which he had been a member since childhood, conducted by Rev. Wm. Stewart of Bonne Terre, assisted by the pastor, Rev. David Wasson. Interment was in Parkview Cemetery, in charge of Caldwell Service.
Jesse Franklin Koen, son of the late Skelton DeMoss Keon [sic] and Corine Belle McDaniel Koen, was born March 8, 1897 on the Koen farm east of Esther. He was united in marriage on September 27, 1919, to Miss Marguerite L. Smith of Esther, and to this union five children were born. He is survived by his wife and children: Charles, Jesse and Kenneth Koen of St. Louis; (Melba) Mrs. August Thomsen of Rivermines; and John, at home.
He also leaves five sisters, (Mayme) Mrs. George Waller and (Cora) Mrs. Joe Smith of St. Louis; (Maude) Mrs. Amos Allen of Flat River; (Lucy) Mrs. Frank Potter and (Nancy) Mrs. Marion Jarrells of Esther; four brothers, Willard Koen of Leadwood; George Koen of Mexico, Mo.; A. D. Koen of Russell, Kansas; and Joe Koen of Flat River. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers.
Mr. Koen was a veteran of World War One. He will be sadly missed by his loved ones.
