Mrs. Permelia J. Mayberry died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E. F. Thurman, of St. Louis, May 24, 1929, at the age of 58 years, 3 months and 1 day, after a brief illness. The remains were brought to her son's, F. M. Mayberry, at Leadwood, and funeral services were conducted Sunday by Rev. Carl at 3:30 at the Leadwood Church of God. Interment was at the Leadwood Cemetery.

Permelia J. Mayberry, nee Morris, was born in Missouri February 28, 1871. On June 3, 1889 she was united in marriage to J. V. Mayberry. To this union seven children were born, two who preceded her in death and five who survive her: one daughter, Mrs. E. F. Thurman, of St. Louis, four sons, F. M. and Ode of Leadwood, Donald of Fort Dodge, Iowa, and Early of St. Louis. She also leaves one sister, Mrs. C. P. Hale, of Leadwood, 17 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and a host of relatives and friends to mourn her departure.

She professed a hope in Christ at an early age and has always been a faithful member of the Leadwood Church of God. As a loving Christian, she has fulfilled her place in this life and so God called her home.

Grieve not yet, her friends and loved ones,
Her life was like an open book;
She is at home with God in Glory.
To him for solace you must look.
On that bright and glorious morning
When the dead in Christ shall rise,
You will meet your sainted mother
In that Home beyond the skies.
