Looking for information on descendants of John Cupler and wife Angelina Ellenor (Miller) Cupler who moved to Missouri in the 1880s, settling in Delaware Township, Shannon County. John, a Civil War Veteran and a doctor, died there on 23 October 1900. He and wife had the following children: Leathea, b. 1878; Perry A, b. June 1879-d. 1918; Emma, b. Jan 1886, md. Charles Conner; Josie, b. Jan 1888; Annie, b. July 1890; Wesley C., b. March 1896; Edward Thomas, b. Apr 1898, Etta, Maria, and two unidentified children. Anyone out there researching this family? The Widow Cupler married Joseph R. Ball in 1902.

Fern,
I'm sorry but John Cupler married Angelina Ellenor Miller back in Pennsylvania not long after the Civil War. They didn't come to Missouri until late 1880s. Don't know that any Millers moved with them so I don't have any information on your Dora Miller.

the family says that Mary Jane, John A, Maria, and Althea were born in Pa, then they moved to Cedar Gap, had Emma, Perry, and Josie before moving back to Pa, then had Annie, Wesley C., Edward Thomas and one child stillborn. I have a cousin Stirley who actually knew our grandmother. His mother was quite a talker whereas my father never mentioned his family. I have beeen meaning to contact him to see if he had any more information on the family. I'll let you know what I learn...

My maternal grandmother, Ella Lue Duncan, married Perry Cupler on Nov 8, 1908 in Shannon Co., MO. I have info and photos of Ella and their 3 children: John Wesley Cupler, Sr., Marion Sylvester Cupler and Hattie Florence Cupler. It's my understanding that Perry died in a mining accident in Cartersville, MO on Jan 23, 1913 and was buried in the Delaware Cemetery near Eminence. If you'd like more, pls contact me directly. Rick
