BURNED TO DEATH
Mrs. Mary Hughes wife of Patrick Hughes who has been living with her daughter in Chanute Kansas burned to death Tuesday Dec 22.
Mrs. Hughes roomed in an out house and it is supposed she had gotten up during the night tovsee about the fire and in some way her clothes caught fire. Her daughter knew nothing about this matter until the next morning when shewent to see about her mother and found theroom had burned to the groubd. Mrs. Hughes body was burnt into a crisp. The remains were shipped to Shackelford,her old home Wednesday Dec. 23 for burial in the Catholic Cemetery.

MRS. PAT. HUGHS BURNED TO DEATH
WAS ALONE WHEN FIRE BURNED HOUSE---CAUSE UNKNOWN
Mrs. Mary Hughes who moved with her husband Patrick Hughes from Shackleford to Chanute Kansas several years ago to reside with a daughter was accidentally burned to death Tuesday morning.
Owing to an infectious ailment Mrs. Hughes was obliged to live apart from the rest of the family and a small house was built for her in the yard which was burned in some manner.
Her remains were brought to Shackleford by Undertaker Walker Wednesday and laid to rest in Mt. St. Mary Cemetery that afternoon. She was an old and well known resident of Shackleford.
