Alpheous Morton born 1858 in Lewis co. Died in 1940 in Miami MoToo the best of my knowledge he married Annie(?)Davis and had a son Charley in Warrensburg in 1884. Next I find him married to Florence (?) and having a daughter Bettie in 1916. His death certificate said he lived in Marshall Mo. and is buried in Miami Mo.
Do any of these folks sound familier? Alpheous is my great grandfathers brother and I would like to know where he is buried and what happened to his children.
Thanks,

Alice

From the Sslater News Rustler, Thursday, June 27, 1963.
Charles Cleveland Morton was born October 22, 1884 in Johnson County, Missouri son of A. James Morton and Ann Elizabeth Downs Morton. He came to Saline County at an early age and lived all his life here. He was a farmer and stockman for many years in the Sharon neighborhood. He was a member of the Miami Baptist Church. He passed away at Fitzgibbon Hospital on June 22, 1963 at the age of 78 years, 8 months. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 24 in the Braun Funeral Home. Burial in the Slater City Cemetery. His first wife, Nettie Cline Morton preceded him in death in 1946. One sister, Mrs. Eula M. Meier preceded him in death May 9, 1963. Surviving are his wife, Anna May Morton, three daughters Mrs. Olive Cotton, Mrs. Harry Meyer and Mrs. Bettye Benedick, five nieces, two nephews and many friends.
Bettye Benedick is a 1/2 sister to my husbands grandmother, Irene Reed Clayton. If I can be of further assistance, I will try my best. I think some of this obit is erroneous but I don't have my notes with me right now. Just let me know if I need to dig further for you.
