Funeral services for Everett C. Woods, 62, Rural Route Orrick, will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at the Baptist church here with the Rev. Maurice Hall, pastor of the church, officiating. Burial will be in Pisgah cemetery.
Mr. Woods died 6:30 p.m. Thursday at his home near Orrick of self-inflicted wounds.
He was born April 9, 1889, in Ray county, the son of Joseph and Martha McKissick Woods, and lived in the county all his life. He married Miss Lena Andrew July 30, 1921, at Liberty. A daughter, born to the marriage, died in infancy.
He was a veteran of World War I and his occupation was farming.
Surviving are his wodow, Mrs. Lena Woods of the home; two brothers, Mose Woods of this city, Claude Woods, Rural Route Orrick,; a sister, Mrs. Rachel Williams of this city; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers at the funeral services will be Elmer Woods, W.T. Robertson, Ronald McMullin, Clarence O'Dell, Bud McAffee, and Dr. Bill Andrew.
Flower girls will be Mrs. W.T. Robertson, Mrs. Thelma McMullin, Grace O'Dell, Vivian Christensen, Virginia Andrew, and Virginia Ann Smallwood.
Dorothy Woods will sing, accompanied by Mrs. Keith Grubbs on the organ.
