I am currently doing research on E. D. (Erastus Darias) BAKER and his wife Jane Louden (Christy) BAKER who lived in Powersville, Putnam County, MO around the turn of the century. They are supposed to be buried in Powersville with Edwin Erastus and his wife and their daughter Jane or Jennie BAKER who never married. I have Jane's death dates, but not Erasus Darias Baker's death dates. I am looking for an E.D. (Erastus Darius) BAKER b. 1831 in New York, who lived in Reddish Township, Lewis County, MO. He died somewhere around 1910. He married Jane Louden CHRISTY, b. 5 Apr. 1842, probably in Morgan Co., Kentucky. She died 12 Apr 1924. They were married in Lewis County, MO. Their children are George Alfred BAKER who married Catherine Mabel SHEPPERSON, James C. BAKER who married Emma FORD, Ira BAKER who was supposed to have been a Dr. in Montana, Adah BAKER, William A. BAKER, Edwin Erastus BAKER, and Jenny BAKER. I have more information and some pictures. I would love cemetery information on Erastus BAKER and his wife Jane Louden, and also for Jennie or Jenny or Jane BAKER (the daughter) and their son Edwin Erastus BAKER.

Sorry, The only James BAKER I know of was a James C. Baker. He married Emma C. FORD. Edwin married Cora HARLAN. Erastus' brother, David, married an Eliza from Canada. Brother Seth married Emily R. BOON. Sorry I couldn't be of any help. This whole family came from New York in the 1850's. Some brother's were married already, some married here.

I have found out that our James C. Baker did NOT marry Emma Ford. He married someone named Minnie and lived in Oakland, California. In a photo found in the Baker/Vankirk home in Weiser, Idaho there is a picture of Jim Baker's manufacturing company in Oakland, California. I found out that James C. Baker was in ill health and had asked his brother George Alfred to move to California and help run the business. George and his family sold everything and made ready to come out to California, when they found out that James C. had died and his wife had sold the business. The James in California is married to a woman named Minnie. Whether that is her name or a nickname I don't know.

Thank you for your information. I am wondering if you have any idea who administers the cemetery. I am sure that my great great grandfather Erastus D. Baker is also buried there, but has no headstone. They had very little money and he may be buried there with no headstone. I would like to write to the sextant or caretaker to see if there are cemetery records that would confirm this. Thank you.
