A friend noticed in a cemetery in this county that in the early 1900s there were a number of young children who died in the same time period, and wondered what could have happened to cause such a high rate of infant mortality in just a few years within a short span of time.

Does anyone know what might have happened? Was there an outbreak of some fatal disease?
