MORRISS/MORRIS descendants

I am looking for descendants/information on Charles Rice MORRISS, d.c.1866, who married Elizabeth MASON, and his two half-brothers, 1) John T. MORRISS, d.1888 Pike Co. and married to Emily Ann SCOTT in the 1830s; and 2) James Youel MORRISS, who married a daughter of David STEWART.

All three men were sons of Ewell/Youel MORRISS, c1775-c1832, of Spotsylvania Co., VA. I have more on Ewell's children including two daughters who married and came to the Pike/Ralls Co. region of Missouri. Also have more on the MORRISS ancestry including some on the wives.

James Y. settled in Pike Co., MO; John T. MORRISS settled in Ashley Twp., Pike Co., MO; Charles R. MORRISS settled in Waverley Twp., Lincoln Co., MO.

Did John T. or Charles R. MORRISS have grandchildren named Price Jackson MORRIS and Margaret "Maggie" A. MORRIS who were living on the 1870 census of Waverley Twp., Lincoln Co., MO in the household of Sarah Ann Elizabeth (WREN) MORRIS? She was either widowed or divorced and married 2nd to Charles MONAGHAN before 1873.

Found in the Pike County Missouri history book, 1883, page 638 and unfortunately not much information but the article makes reference to the Noix Creek Baptist Church and in a list of original members is - Morriss. The list show the first name missing but at least they were in the area. Hope this helps in some small way.

Tonya,

This is the same family. I show Charles MONAGHAN enumerated twice in 1870: Waverly Twp., Lincoln Co. on same page with my WRENs and MORRIS' and again in Hartford Twp., Pike Co.

Charles wife was Barbara, b. c. 1835-36 Ohio and their children are: John P., 16; George, 14; Samuel M., 12; Mary A., 10; Margaret J., 8; Sarah J., 6-7 (diff. age on each census); Elizabeth E., 4, James William, 2; Barbara/Barbary, 3/12 born March 1870.

I have them again in 1880, wife and youngest daughter are dead. Many of the children or gone. I believe Barbara Sr. died and Charles married or had an affair with my Sarah (WREN) MORRIS. She had Charles A. MONAGHAN in Nov. 1873. If she married Charles MONAGHAN Sr., they divorced or separated because in 1880, she's listed as MORRIS again on the census for Kaufman Co., TX.

A Charles (Uncle Charley) MONAGHAN is listed as having died in July 1893 (and before July 23rd) according to Ancestry.com's Pike Co., MO Deaths Database. It appears to be the same man.

I would like to share information.
