There seems to be consensus John Wilbarger died in Pike Co., MO about 1836. I know he recieved/bought some land there in 1830 or so. I don't think he shows up in the 1840 Census so it's likely correct.
Problem is I have not yet found proof of it. I checked the online records through Ancestry but nothing. I don't know what part of Pike he died in either. He likely would have been Lutheran as his father was Lutheran. He's the son of Mathias Wilberger of Rockingham Co., VA. John (born Johannes) was actually born in Washington Co., MD. He married Ann Pugh (Pew) in Apr 1800 in Bourbon, KY.
Looks like he headed west to strike out his own fortune. Any help is greatly appreciated. I am working to determine his death both for family research and to complete an 1812 application. John was a private in the U.S. Army for most of the war. He later went on to volunteer with two KY Militias.
