hello...i am the great granddaughter of alexander carroll dean by way of his daughter, nancy jane dean smith, by way of her daughter, pearl lillian smith weiss..
nancy always insisted she was adopted, and was eligible for oklahoma oil allotment money...
can anyone in phelps county help me come up with information about nancy being either the 'birth' daughter of a c and susannah dean, or, the adoptive daughter of same...i do not believe she would have had any reason to dissemble about this information...anything greatly appreciated..jweisstruitt

hello...since writing this post, i have had an epiphany...am no longer searching for any information about 'oklahoma oil money'...have been roundly criticized by several folks for same, and as far as i can ascertain, nancy jane was born to a c and susannah jane dean...so, if/until anyone comes up with any information to the different, i am pretty well settled with the information i have..thank you all for your help and caring in assisting my with my 'genealogical journey'...

I am quite interested in the Dean family since the sister of Alexander Dean, Mary Minvera Dean produced many descendants in Phelps co. Names like Delashmit, Earp, Daugherty, Sandifer, Tourville, and Roach have ties to this Dean. I am not a direct descendant but am a descendant of the Earp and Roach family. I would love to add info to my data base and will share anything I have.

Minerva Dean and other Deans (including Alexander and Susanna) are buried in the Laney-Smith Cemetery in Phelps County. Heartfelt appreciation to the ladies who took time to visit the cemetery and document the names.
