I could use a lot of help. I am stuck my grandfather was Milton Clyde James Sr. 04 Apr 1907 to 05 Mar 1974. He used to own a Used furniture/junk store uptown near the old hays grocery store just off the square in Hayti.

He was married to Lucy Ora Hollingshead. His father was William David James born in ky or tenn 15 Mar 1886(1900 census), 1887(Headstone), 1888(WWI draft card) and died 09 May 1954 in Hayti. He also owned a coal/junk/garage on Hwy 61 just outside Hayti on the south side. He was married to Maude Emmer or Emma Hicks (23 Feb 1881 to 15 Dec 1965 in Caruthersville.

They were all from Tennessee and moved to the Holland, Steele, Virginia township area. My dad David Franklin James was born in Holland 07 Apr 1936.

I am looking for William D James father and mother. Father was known as Matt James my searches turn up Mat in 1900 census Virginia township and show him widowed. I am trying to find when he died and where he is buried? I have him born in Tennessee anywhere between 1845 and 1851. Last known address in 1900 Virginia Township pemiscot co. There was some relationship to the Samfords and was wondering if he is in Samford Cemetery? Some family trees have mistakenly listed him as dying in 1893 in Hickman, Fulton County Kentucky. He and the correct children were listed in the 1900 Census in Virginia Township.

His wife was Adelphi Adeline Lankford maybe(langford)she was born around 1851 in Tenessee she must have died between 1892, when their last child was born, and 1900 when the census shows Mat James was already widowed. I would like to know when and where she died and where she is buried?

My Uncle and I have been searching for several years and maybe you know how to find something that I haven't. I hope I haven't been to confusing. :)
