I had the wrong name. Moses wife was Zericia Graham the daughter of Elijah Graham 1760-1841. Elijah died in washington county Arkansas. I think Susanah was married to a Ford and was the mother of James Newton Ford of Ozark county, Mo. I will have to check more into the family trees

Hello, I am John Hutchison's 2nd Great Grandaughter from John's Daughter Doshia Hutchison Holdaway,her daughter Florance Holdaway Tullis her son bobby tullis then me Flora. John Hutchison was born a Hutchison his Farther Jeremiah died when he was about 2 years old the only Farther he knew was James Asbury and actually looking for records Susannah and james were never married and he died and is buried in the Templeman Family cemetery in Ozark County missouri went there myself looking for answers and that is what I found.

i am a descendant, My first name is James. My father's name is James. As Ozark Friends we go back to James Friend who either move to or was born in Marion County, Arkansas in the 1790s. Most of the family land is under water called Bull Shoals Lake.

Ben Welch is my mothers brother. Her father is Eli William Welch. Her mother Sally Jane.
My mother (82) was the last born . Uncle Ben was grown when she was born. Her name is Delouris Etta Welch.
I love reading your Ancestry. We would visit GRandPa and GrandMa Welch every summer. They lived in Romance Missouri. Sweet beautiful loving people!

One of our members of the Bowles list transcribed the store ledgers of this company and posted it on the Bowles list. If you go to the Bowles list archives and put in the search box Bright Hope Furnace Company you will find this in the early years of the Bowles list.

It seems to have been the maiden name of Sarah Bowles (or Boles) who married Hiram Hogan and then later John Luttrell. Her father seemed to be a powerful figure around the Bright Hope Furnace Company in Tennessee at one time.

Hi Lois, Yes it still exists. The road to turn on is about a half mile up the hwy. towards Gainesville, from the Isabella Cem., turn down toward Haskins Ford. It is called the New Friend Cem. I believe the old Friend cemetery is under the lake. All the people in that one where suppost to of been moved to the New Friend. I think there might have been a couple of other cemeteries moved to the New Friend as well.

Check it out on Find A Grave, There are a lot of pictures posted there of the stones.

Have you heard of or do you know where the "FRIEND" cemetery was or is? I noticed on the online death certificates index of surname "Friend" most I saw were buried in the Friend Cemetery. Where is it located? Does it still exist?

We are decended from Levin and Mary Stewart Green through his son George Samuel and Cynthia Rafferty through his son George Levin Alexander and Jo Anna Boles through their daughter Essie and Elijah Whittiker through our mother's family. Just walked the entire Gainesville Cem. yesterday, took pictures of all readable stones. The only McDonald Stones where:

The above mentioned stones will be posted to Find A Grave in a few day's.

If there are others buried there, their stones are no longer readable or have been lost to the weather.

I am just lookin this over trying to find my connect IM sure you have already got your answer to yes but yes Mary Jane Mooney McDonald aug 4, 1831- May 7, 1908 and her husband William McDonald died July 1874 are listed in the Gainsville Cemetery Inscriptions II by Dorothy Baxter..There is no Wilson, maybe it got mixed because the book says William is her husband ?

Other sources show John "Jack" Nave was killed by bushwhackers on the Little North Fork of White River in Arkansas.

I have a George Washington (Wash) Coker, b 20 Feb 1814 d. 8 Feb 1899, m. Nancy A. King b. 5 Dec 1821 d. 11 Mar 1894. The headstones of George and Nancy are modern and are wearing smooth at the Patton Cemetery in Marion County, AL. One child - Barnett Barney Coker. An ancestor that passed away in the 1990's verbally told a family member that her mother's Coker ancestors were of the white-dressed blue-eyed Cherokee tribe.

See the webpages 195/196 of the book; Boone Co, AR, Turner Publishing Company, Jun 15, 1998. It shows a George Coker born 1814 as son of "River" Bill Coker and Mary A. Orr -- previously married to Herrod/Hardin Coker. This book shows that George was (killed by Jack Nave).

Your (4) Herrod Coker shows being married to Polly Orr and River Bill Coker married to Peggie Holt as his first wife and first child, George Coker b. 1850. Our Geo. W. Coker and referenced in the online book was b. 1814.

It says that Retha wrote this article, so I don't know where the errors came from because she knows better. Somehow the Hutchison name appears over and over, when actually, she was simply the first wife of Tom Graves. Tom & Gladys (Bryant)Graves' children, Retha & Eva's last name is Graves, at the end of the article, it then lists Tom as a Hutchison. Hopefully, just typos. Again, Hazel Hutchison was Tom Graves' first wife, with no surviving children. Absolutely no connection to Tom Graves' children.

Eli William Welch and Sally Jane Bass Welch are my Grand Parents. My mother (still living) is the youngest of their children. Delouris Etta Welch. Most of her brothers and sisters were married when she was born. Grandpa and GMa Welch lived in Romance Missouri. We would visit them on their farm through the years. They were Very sweet kind hardworking people who raised their 13 children to become hardworking adults.

My Grandmother was Stella Thornton whose father was Bert Thornton, and Grandfather was David Bedwell Thornton, and Great Grandfather was John Thornton b. 1820 in Virginia I believe and d. 1906 in Dora, Ozark Mo. I cannot seem to be able to get any information about John's parents or family in Virginia, although there is a strong Thornton name in VA, I'm having problems figuring out details about John Thornton of the Ozarks. Any information you have found would be much appreciated.

By the time of the 1910 census Etta has divorced and gone back to name of Morton and is living with her mother Debora sister Inez born Dec 1889 and brother Grover born 22 Sept 1892. There were no children and Joseph Welch was not listed in 1900 census in Shannon county.

Elijah M Morton married Deborah "Spanks" 20 Feb 1868 Osage Co MO. Rachel Koller 24 Mar 1885 - 24 Sept 1937 Shannon county buried Summersville City Cem.

Etta S Morton then married Francis Melvin Hudspeth 01 June 1913 ? she died in Franklin, Dent Co MO 26 May 1937 death certificate listed as Mrs. Francis Melvin Hudspeth dtr of E M Morton of AL and D.Ann Sparks of Osage Co and was buried Miner Cemetery born 08 Jan 1871. They lived in Dent Co in 1920 - 1930, Francis was born 29 Mar 1864 died 02 Jul 1942 buried Miner Cem.

Grover Morton was in Chouteau Co MT in 1917-1918 where he registered for WW I draft then in Augusta, Lewis & Clark Co MT in 1930 and 1940. He had not married died in Lewis & Clark/Flathead MT 24 Dec 1973.

TX Vital Records -
The Texas Vital Statistics law to register births and deaths was not passed until 1903. Texas was then and is now a dual registration state which means the local registrars retain a copy of all birth and death records for the events that take place within their jurisdiction and the state retains the original of all birth and death records for the entire State of Texas. I have a large (~16X20)wedding certificate dated 3 April 1907 in Ally, Missouri.
Joseph Welch married Etta Morton.
Etta Morton was the oldest sister to Rachel Morton Koller, my grandmother.

Witnessed by G T Morton and F W Koller (my grandfather).

I would be happy to send this document to a descendant of Joseph and Etta Welch.

I also have Etta's trunk, just the trunk, no contents.

Bert W. Clark was a well-known preacher and farmer. He first married Ida Killion in 1895, and they had two sons. . . After the death of Ida, Bert married Harriet "Hattie" (Wolfe) Smith (1873 - 1960), They had three children Madge Clark White, Wolfard W. "Wolf" Clark and Hattie Clark Sanford (born 1911). Moses C. Martin and Polly are also my ggg grandparents. I come through the Perry Henson Martin line. Perry's son, William Lacurgess Martin, is my great grandfather. I've met several others online who are descendants of Moses C. Martin. I have a grainy photo of Moses and Polly and a picture of Perry and his sons. I can send them to you, if you like. I met Ollie Mae in 1964 at the home of my great grandparents, William L. Martin and Mildred Haskins Martin.

Felin Holt JONES was born 1861 Ozark Co, MO. Brother Felix JONES born 1859. Boys were raised by an uncle -- I have some information that their father might be John "Jack" JONES and unknown mother. Both parents died when the boys were young and they were raised by an uncle, James W. JONES and his wife Lourana (RISLEY) JONES of Little North Fork Township, Marion Co, Arkansas. All four of them are including in the Marion County 1870 census (Felin is misspelled as Feildan) on page 7, enumeration #54.

The two boys ran away to "cowboy" in Texas. Felix died soon after. Felin married Mary Anne WALLIN in Vernon, TX. Any information on a Felin, Felix, John "Jack" JONES and unknown wife very much appreciated.

Hello, Hiram Hogan is also my 3rd great-grandfather on my mother's side via David Bowles Hogan. Have you gotten any other info about him since your earlier postings back in 2002? Also, I did find a headstone for one HIRAM HOGAN on FIND-A-GRAVE located in Nebraska that I'm leaning toward thinking may be the very same one we're looking for. I did read story of how he just up & left his wife so maybe this is the same.
