Alhthough this thread is a couple of years old, I am very interested in all information. I am the granddaughter of Jesse Ray "Pop" Reed (son of William Burton and Sarah Frances Rebecca, grandson of John B and Mariah). It is interesting that you have also heard the Indian story line. My mother had told me that Pop had said he was one-eighth Cherokee, which would put Samuel or Fanny to be the full-blood if true.

I would be interested any information about the Reeds. I would be glad to fill you in on this branch of the tree as well.
