William Alexander George (W.A.) was born abt 1848. He was the son of William George and Elizabeth Hanna. He was the grandson of Alexander and Malinda Hanna. William Alexander's father before 1852. I found William Alexander and his mother in the household of Alexander Hanna in 1860 and then I lose track of them. Does anyone have information about them?

I don't find him for sure in the 1870 census although there is a William George in Cooper Co that might have been him.

According to a file I received, he died in Moniteau Co, MO on 01 Dec 1917 and is buried in the Burke Addition (Crown Hill) portion of the California City Cementery. You can see a pic of his headstone at http://www.moniteau.net/cemetery/burke/george-william.JPG

You are right! Actually, both dates were for Wm Gabriel. The correct dates for Wm Alexander are as on the headstone, b on 07 Sep 1846 and d on 13 Jan 1901 in California, Moniteau Co, Missouri.

Was Wm Gabriel also a child of William and Elizabeth or did my original source have things mixed up? I need to know so I can correct my web site.

I believe William George died early so he and Elizabeth Hanna only had the one child--William Alexander. I don't have a death date for Elizabeth, but from the census records you sent me apparently William Alexander lived with others so perhaps she died fairly early also. I am actually related to William Alexander's uncle, Rufus George.
