I'm searching for any information or descendants of Elizabeth W.(Gleim) McCulloh born 1808 in Baltimore, Maryland, and died 1883 in Tipton, Missouri.
Elizabeth married Robert McCulloh born 1809 in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, and he died in 1852 there.
I found this family in the 1850 census living in Donegal, Westmoreland, Pennsylvania..... They had the following children.....
Ellen McCulloh born 1834 in Pennsylvania.
Robert L. McCulloh born 1845 in Westmoreland, Pennsylvania.
In the 1880 census, I found Elizabeth and family members living with Harry Gleim in Tipton, Missouri.....

I am not able to give you any particular information on Elizabeth Gleim McCulloh as such, but are you aware that the home where she lived in Tipton is now a house musuem called "The Maclay Home"? Two of the Gleim brothers, John and Frailey Gleim came to Tipton from St. Louis and purchased this home in 1869. Over the next few years they were joined by their four widowed sisters, one of them being Elizabeth, and a bachelor brother, Harrison Gleim. At this period in time the house was known as the "Gleim Mansion". Later on the house was owned by a nephew of the Gleim brothers, Cyrus C. Maclay, and descendants of this family owned the home until it was turned over to a group, "The Friends of the Maclay Home" who are in charge of the home today. It became a house museum a good many years ago, not sure of the date, but late 70's or early 80's. The most fasinating thing about the home is it is "stuffed" full of furnishings, household items of every sort, clothing, personal belongings, everything was just left in the house! It is a treasure!

COL. CHRISTIAN GLEIM:

Christian Gleim, fourth son of George Christian Gleim and Anna Maria Mathias, was born Jan. 10, 1780. He received a fair education and
subsequently went to Philadelphia, where he entered the printing-office of Ezra Bailey, serving with Duane, Binns, Marshall, Wynkoop, and others who became men of note. He next went to Richmond, Va., and thence to Baltimore. There he married Martha Henry daughter of John Henry. In 1812, Mr. Gleim settled in Harrisburg, and was appointed printer of the Senate Journal in English. He served as ensign of Capt. Thomas Walker’s company, and returned as paymaster United States volunteers. In October, 1821, he was elected sheriff of Dauphin County, serving three years. In 1830, Col. Gleim removed to Pittsburgh, where he resided until his death, which occurred Sept. 21, 1861. Col. Gleim was an enterprising and prominent citizen of this locality sixty or seventy years ago. He was a highly-cultivated Christian gentleman.

Thank you so very much for letting me know about Elizabeth Gleim. I heard about that home and the remarkable treasures inside!
My problem is that I live in Utah. Elizabeth's daughter-in-law, Hannah Elizabeth Blanchard, is my great aunt. She was married to Robert L. McCulloh. Is there anybody I can email that could help me with this family?
Robert met and married Hannah in Utah, and then moved to Montana. I don't know if she ever returned home to visit, but I know know Robert and their descendants became quite prominent. I'm trying to find family that I can talk to.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I know there are stories to tell and I want to connect with Hannah's descendants.
