Received internment records from Miller Co and was wondering if anyone knew of a Roark Family cemetary and where it might be located? Thanks

Roark Family Cemetery
To locate this cemetery, take Hwy 52 from Tuscumbia towards St. Elizabeth. Cross Panther Creek. About 1/2 mile, take first private gravel road on left. This road is easy to miss as it lies at the top of a rise and is at right angle to the hwy. Go down the hillside. The cemetery is about 2/10th mile on the east side of the road.

As of 1972

Bessie Roark
1895 - 1898

Willard Roark
1893 - 1898

Marion Roark
Mo Pvt Co B, 48th Regt., MO Inf
Confederate States Army

Found these directions in a book...hope they are clear enough.

I too am a Roark and I read the directions to the "Roark" Cemetary in another reply. This may not be the cemetary you are looking for. I have been to the one described. Also, the directions are misleading..they were recorded by volunteers who went around and documented burial cites many years ago. There is another Roark Cemetery near Henley Missouri. Older generations of my people are buried there, but I have not been able to make a connection to any of the Roarks buried in the other cemetery, especially the military person, who by the way does have a modern day copper military plate near the gravesite. If I can be of further help please let me know

Do you have any info concerning an Archie or Carroll Roark of Miller Co.? This would have been about 1850 or so. I have a pair of sisters who married brothers, I am assuming, and just wondered who their descendants are. I don't have pictures of them, but the sisters are Nancy and Lucinda Capps. Lucinda later married a James Hamilton. I think I have a picture of Lucinda; she is part of a group of Bilyeus and was an Sister to my g-g-g-grandmother, Mariah Capps, who married into the Bilyeus.
Thank you in advance, if you are part of this line.

This may be the cemetery you are looking for. It was originally called the Roark Burying Ground but is now called the Proctor-Roark Cemetery. It is located about 4 miles south of Russellville on AA Hy. It is on private property on the east side of AA and a marker has been placed on AA at the farmhouse entrance.

The Roark Cemetery near Russellville is not the cemetery AMASON87 is looking for. I've never heard the Roark Cem. near Russellville called Proctor-Roark Cem. although there are Proctors buried there and several Proctors have graciously helped maintain it over the years.

My GGrandmother is buried there and we have visited the cemetery the last 2 years to place flowers on her grave. Our family records state that she was buried in the Roark Burial Grounds in Cole County. The sign on AA now calls it the Proctor-Roark Cemetery. My GGrandmother was Nancy Jane (Melton) Henderson, Burk, Miller. There is a headstone there.
