At three years of age Jessie Wieland was taken by her mother Jeannette Wieland to St. Mary's Asylum in St. Louis, MO in May, 1912. The document from the Daughters of Charity says that Jessie Wieland was born 29 Sept 1909. Jessie was born and baptized in Illinois. Jeannette Wieland of Hannibal, MO was deserted by her husband.

The 1910 Census MO Marion Hannibal has a Jessie Welland, granddaughter, Augusta Hanson Neff, grandmother, and son Frank Hanson living in Hannibal. Frank may or may not be Jessie's father.
