I am also looking for the parents of Cora. I can tell you that I do have her mothers death certificate. Her mother is Martha Jones. Her father to my knowledge is Calvin C. Jones. My uncle steve went to Cora's furneral in 1977 at Whitison's cemetary and I have a copy of the entire cemetary contents via GEDCOM. I am working on purchasing her death certificate as she was cherokee and I plan on proving the cherokee side of things and getting the entire family (lots still living) membership. I don't want the money or the insurance, it's the challenge of it. To this day, no one in my family has been able to. Were talking no one in 200 years here. Hit me up if you have any questions. Cora was married to Eli and they had a son named Chester Marvin Massey. He is my paternal grandfather.

Hi, I am sincerely hoping someone can provide the obit's for Paul W. and Pamela Murphy, husband and wife, who both died on June 26, 1981. They are buried in the Antioch Cemetery in Oakland.
Paul and my Dad trained and shipped out to Korea together.
Dad has wondered for along time about Paul, his life, whether or not he made it out of Korea, etc. He watched over Paul while they were together.
Please, anyone with information or an ability to do a obit look up, we would be so very appreciative. Dad is now 84.

I am trying to locate information on when my father Thoma J. Stewart, relocated to Labanon (Washington) from Birchtree, MO. I believe it was around 1922 -1925. There was a fire that destroyed the home but the property had other buildings on site, where we lived before moving closer into Lebanon. The school I attended prior to the move was Washington School.

This is so gracious of you! I have been pounding my head seeking any proof of my grandfather's birth in Lebanon, Laclede Co, MO. I have not had any success. I'm not sure if there are any records for 1909? But it's worth a shot!

He was born: 24 Nov 1909 Clifon Harry Buhrmaster.
Parents: Edward William Buhrmaster and Julia Etta (Kibler) Buhrmaster.

Arthur Leroy Jones md Essie Faye Cowan Shrimpton in 1939 in Ne, she was a widow with 2 children, Charlotte Shrimpton, b. 1936, Ne and Alfred James Shrmpton, b. 1938, Ne. They had 2 child in Ne, Preston James, b. 1940, and Patrick McKay Jones, b. 1941, and then apparently moved to Laclede co, MO. Arthur, Essie and Patrick McKay d. there, but what happened to Charlotte, Alfred James and Preston James?

In the 1940 census, Omaha, Ne, enumerated Apr 26, 1940, Charlotte and Alfred James are listed as "Jones" so I don't know whether or not he formally adopted them.

My grandmother (born Carol Woody) of Lebanon Mo, Laclede Co, went to school in both buildings. She was born in 1944. It was called Dry and Dusty School. :)

I have the same info as you have. The problem is her last name being Vernon. Nothing matches up. My feeling is that she was either taken in or adopted by Thomas and Isabell. There were several families that seem to have traveled to the Lebanon Missouri area together and I believe the Vernon's were a part of that group. Birth certificates for that time in Missouri are almost impossible to find since there was no statewide requirement until 1909 If you are close to Lebanon, it might be best to go there. There is a genealogical society there but the have not responded to any of my inquiry's.

I'm looking for any information that anyone might have on my great grandmother Arthula Nancy Vernon. I can't find out definitively who her parents were. In the information I have it says that Isabella Abigail Roberts Wyatt Breedlove is her Mother. She's listed in the 1880 Census as the daughter of Thomas Breedlove and Isabella Roberts. However, I can't find a birth certificate on her and so I have no proof that Isabella really was her mother. I have been told that there's a possibility that Arthula was just living with Isabella and Thomas Breedlove, but wasn't their daughter. If anyone has any further information, please let me know. I'd like to trace the family history back on her side if its possible.

I am not related, but I did have relatives in Laclede Co. so when I saw your post I thought maybe I could help. Much of this information I found through familysearch.org a great, free, search site.

I am searching for information on the KEARNES, KERNS, KERN, CURN family. Jonathan B. KEARNES was born about 1852 in Ohio. He married Eliza Caroline JAMES on 30 Jun 1878 at Hiattsville, Bourbon, Kansas. They were listed on the 1880 census in Pawnee, Bourbon, Kansas, along with their son, William. I have no further information on Jonathan or William. The family relocated to Laclede County, Missouri in the 1880's. In addition to William, they had two more children: Anna Louise, born 1881 in Kansas, and Thomas Marion, born 1883 in Kansas. William died before 1900. Jonathan and William probably died in Missouri, possibly Laclede County.

Eliza (JAMES) CURN married Robert G. RUSSSELL on 17 Aug 1898 at her residence in Laclede County, Missouri. By the 1900 census, they were located in Galena City, Cherokee, Kansas and Eliza was listed as having 3 children with two living.

I would be greatful for any information on this family.

Kathy, THis was an old post, but perhaps I can still connect to you. It appears we must be cousins! John M and Sarah Rogers had at least 7 kids that I know of. My great-grandmother was Nora Belle Starks and she married William Arthur Cochran. I have pictures of Minnie, Nora and a few of the others.

Hello, I am wondering if you can help me. I am researching our Sullivan family Line. They lived in the Missouri area from the 1850s through the turn of the century. We are not sure of the eldest parents names but understand that they passed away sometime during the Civil War in the Pest House near Ironton, Missouri. We were also told that this "Pest House" was later referred to as the "Poor Farm". They had several children that were taken in by various family and area people following their parent's death from the Small Pox. Two of the children were William Victor Sullivan (born in Dec 1859) and his brother, John L. Sullivan (born in August 1856). We believe there were two sisters, N.Nancy and Elizabeth (Lizzie). We believe there may have been others but can't be sure. William was reportedly born in Liberty, Iron County, Missouri and in all likliness, so were his siblings. We would love to know more about the family should anyone know. William Victor Sullivan married Etta Caroline Braswell, Lizzie married Nathan Oneal. A small note that a cousin has shared has some information written on it that, "the Sullivans were buried near the "Ivester Farm". We are not sure if there may be a cemetery there somewhere or that they were buried on what is now "private property". We would love to discover the whereabouts of their final resting place. I am trying to piece together my husband's paternal grandmother's family. I have located the 4 siblings but they all appear to live with different families on the 1910 census. I have wondered if they could have been part of the orphan train or born in Laclede and separated due to parents deaths. Can not locate the parents of the siblings but I have Edith Snyder 1894, Elmer Otis Snyder 1900, and I think twins Lillie and Lennie Snyder 1904. Wondered how I could get copies of birth certificates to locate their parental info. Anything you can help on would be greatly appreciated. I also have a small wedding picture that has Edith Pummill Snyder on the back. Could be thier mother???

Also, I understand they are both buried in the Davis Brandon Cemetery.

My great grandfather was Willis Perry Hayes. He died in Lebanon Hospital. I recently found his death cert and they new nothing about him. He is noted as being handled by the Palmer's Mortuary. I have no idea where they would have burried someone that no one knew. I dont like the idea he is alone out there.

Dora and Edward Lutz were my great grandparents. Dorothy Lutz was my grandmother. I have a picture of Ed and Dora from 1917; one of Dora(centered) with two unknown females; and on of Dora with her kids Dorothy, Woodrow, Gus and John.

Thanks everyone for the response. It did help me alot. After more research, my conclusion is that my 2nd great grandfather is buried in Texas. His widow did not go back to Missouri until somewhere between 1865-1869. Since he died in 1862, he was either buried in Navasota,Texas where he died, because the troops was on their way to Arkansas Post or he is buried back in Belton, Texas where his widow was living. It's still a mystery, but one I'm determine to solve! LOL
