Can someone tell me if there is a Cemetery Association for
Tillery Cemetery? If not, I would like to find descendents of people who are buried there. Some of the names associated with it are
Tillery,
BARGER,
MCCRACKEN(there's alot of McCrakens',)
LEAR,
STARKEY, GREEN and CHANEY.I'm sure there are more, but, those are the names I can remember seeing. My husband's 3rd great grandfather, William
BARGER and alot of his family are buried there. I'm hoping to put a group of people together to clean it up, maybe clean out the fence rows. You can't see some of the stones for the brush that's grown up. Also, I think if we get a big enough group of people together, we might be able to get the county to maintain the road a little better. It IS a county numbered road. My husband called it a "goat path" last Saturday when we were on our way to get to it. I know the cemetery is the only thing on that road, but, my goodness, you couldn't get a regular car up it. I also thought of the fact that since the road is so bad, it might keep vandals away from it, but, the Cemetery does need cleaned up. Please help clean up
Tillery!!!
