Jack JONES b. 13 Feb 1909, Stewart County, MO, to Woodrow JONES and Carrie Belle POE. Jack d. Nov 1982 Springfield, Greene Co., MO. The funeral home was Ralph Thieme Funeral Services. Their record says Jack was divorced, but the family knows her name was Fern LNU and was supposed to be from Ava, Douglas Co, MO. The family knew Jacks mothers name was Carrie Belle Poe. The funeral home record says he was a retired exterminator, born in Bumpus Mills, Tenn (which is in Stewart Co., it lists his children as Mrs. Juanita Barber, Mrs. Dorothy Ray, Mrs. Rebecca Thompson, Charles Jones, Buddy Jack Jones, 14 grand children and ten great grand children, pall bearers were grandsons and he was buried at Hazelwood Cemetery in Springfield.
The family story goes that when Fort Campbell, KY was made, which lies both in KY and TN, the Jones family farm was taken as part of the fort. Also, when Jack was about 14 years old, he moved to southwest MO, presumably with the family.
