Rufus Fayette Brown and his family came to Jackson Township from Coventry, Connecticut, in about 1855. Both he and his brother Marcus Brown have bios in "The History of Gentry and Worth Counties". His oldest son, Carlos H. Brown (b. 1859) married Carrie L. in about 1881. Carl and Carrie moved around a fair bit after their marriage, Nebraska, back to Missouri, the Oklahoma, finally Bent County, Colorado.

Great-great-grandmother Carrie is the only one of my gg-grandparents for whom I do not have a full name. From the various US census entries, she was apparently born in Missouri in May 1865, and her parents were both born in Indiana.
