The surname of my grandparents is not in the list, but they are known to have come from Lippe Detmold because of personal documents and census material. the name is ISENBERG. I am female, my father is the ancestor directly linked to this family noted specifically as originating in Augustdorf in 1829. What results might I be able to get from DNA testing ? I thought there was male line testing and female line testing but a mix of generations, male and female alternating would not show proper markers.
